My Background
I have always dreamed of working with horses. After years of riding and various professional experiences in different equine environments, I chose to become a farrier.
After completing a 2-year apprenticeship at the Anderlecht Farriery School in Brussels, Belgium, I returned to the Southwest of France to further my training with another farrier. In 2002, I decided to take the plunge: I established my own business and began traveling across Gironde, mainly in Lot-et-Garonne and the Landes.
Simultaneously, I continued my education by attending conferences, exchanging ideas with colleagues, veterinarians, equine osteopaths, equine dentists, and more.
Over the years, I trained several apprentices who have become, for some, qualified, competent, and recognized farriers.
In 2016, after four years of apprenticeship, my son Ruben joined me and became my full-time assistant. As time passed, my clientele grew and became loyal, leading to the current state of Maréchalerie Alexandre, 20 years later.
