Farrier

Maréchalerie Alexandre

My Story

I always dreamed of working with horses. After years of riding and several professional experiences in different areas of the horse world, I chose farriery.

Once I had completed my 2-year apprenticeship at the Anderlecht farrier school (Brussels, Belgium), I returned to the South-West of France to refine my training with another farrier. Then, in 2002, I decided to go out on my own: I set up my business and began traveling across the Gironde, mainly, as well as the Lot-et-Garonne and the Landes. At the same time, I kept training, attending conferences and exchanging ideas with colleagues, veterinarians, osteopaths, equine dentists, and more.

As the years went by, I trained several apprentices, some of whom have become qualified, skilled and recognized farriers. In 2016, after 4 years of apprenticeship, my son Ruben joined me and now works alongside me full time.

Over time, my clientele grew and became loyal, leading, 20 years later, to the Maréchalerie Alexandre of today.
